Now in the USA, finally your personal, body protection air bag! I first saw this at the Horse Expo in Denver in March. It's new to the US, Hit-Air air shock-buffering system bag vest. Now you have more protection than just a helmet. These air bag vests and jackets are designed to protect a horseback or motorcycle rider's neck, spine, rib cage and vital organs in case of a fall or crash.

In the event of an accident and the rider is thrown from a horse, the air cushion instantly inflates (within 1/2 second) to protect the rider's body. Activation is simple and automatic. A coiled wire is attached to both the horse saddle and the hit-air vest. Once the rider and the horse are separated, the coiled wire pulls a "key" out of a gas release system and inert gas inflates the air cushion. The inflated jacket provides the necessary impact protection. After a few seconds the gas is automatically released through the gas release valve. Once the gas is released, a new cartridge can be installed and the jacket is ready for reuse. Try that with your car's air bag.

Horseback hit-air demonstration video Juliane was riding this horse the night before the video and was wearing the hit-air vest. The saddle was loose and she fell from the side. The hit-air system activated and prevented injury. As you can see Juliane is fine. Juliane also wears a helmet when riding, we had her take if off for the pictures. Every parent wants to protect their young riders. Now it's possible!

These video's are for demonstration purposes. You can adjust how long the tether is and how soon the air bags will activate and protect. It takes 40 pounds of pressure to inflate the hit-air vests and jackets. It's actually falling off the horse-ATV-motorcycle that activates the hit-air system. We advocate the use of helmets in riding activities and only removed them from the models for photo and video purposes. No animals or humans where harmed in the video's.
